Cathy Cartner (Wangerman) Neuner

Cathy Cartner (Wangerman) Neuner, 67, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Hackensack, NJ, she lived most of her life in the Syracuse area. Cathy was a graduate of Nottingham High School, New York State College of Forestry and received her master's degree from Syracuse University. She was employed for 30 years with the Onondaga County Dept. of Information Technology. Cathy volunteered with the Girls Scouts of America, Baltimore Woods Nature Center, Rosemond Gifford Zoo, WCNY, Onondaga Hill Players, Joy Germs and the Onondaga Historical Association. She enjoyed crocheting, singing, acting, clowning, the outdoors and storytelling.

Cathy was predeceased by her parents, George H. and Lois (Johnson) Wangerman; and godparents, John and Eleanor Buchanan.

Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Michael; daughter, Christina (Sean) Neuner-Boyle; son, Matthew (Amy) Neuner; sister, Susan Wangerman; brothers, Laurence "Kip" Wangerman and Thomas "TJ" Johnson Wangerman; grandchildren, Caleb, Luke and Brady Neuner and Seamus, Liam and Eamonn Boyle; and many more family and friends.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, September 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will be Friday, September 29 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Cathy will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
