Catherine J. McCracken

Catherine "Kaye" J. McLaughlin McCracken, 75, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 11, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Osceola Mills, PA, she lived in the Syracuse area since 1956. Kaye was a 1956 graduate of Clearfield Area High School. She loved butterflies. She also enjoyed playing Bunco and camping at her family camp on Brennan Beach. Kaye was predeceased by her husband, George; son, Jeffery; sisters, Joan, Barbara and Delores; and brothers, Gilbert and Logan. Surviving are her daughter, Deborah (Bill) Benderski of Syracuse; sons, Michael of Tuthill, SD and Gregory of Syracuse; sister, Mary Ryan of PA, brothers, John and George McLaughlin, both of PA; and grandchildren, William Benderski Jr., Julia, Amanda, Jonathan and Jeremiah McCracken, all of Syracuse. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, January 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 16 at the funeral home. Kaye will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
