Catherine E. Cook, 102, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born in Providence, RI, she moved to Camillus in 1963. A graduate of Hope High School, she was employed with Onondaga Savings Bank for 17 years. As a child, Catherine danced professionally with her partner, Duke McHale, in New England. Her love of dance continued throughout her life. Catherine was a member of the Golden Agers and enjoyed reading, arts and crafts and spending time with her family. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she helped and volunteered at the food pantry.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Donald; daughter, Catherine Hintz; sisters, Margaret Freeman and Frances Donovan; and brother, William Fennessy.
Surviving are her daughter, Margaret Martin of Syracuse; sons, Donald (Patricia) of North Syracuse and John (Linda) of Venice, FL; grandchildren, Katherine Goldstein, Jennifer Dodge, Timothy Cook, Kevin Cook, Lindsey Pienkowski, Matthew Cook, Julie Hintz and Joshua, Jordanne and Kalen Martin; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. Catherine will be laid to rest in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
