Carole A. Gersbacher, 77, of Westvale, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 surrounded by her devoted and loving family. Born and raised in Ashley, PA, she graduated from St. Leo's School and moved to Syracuse in 1962. Carole was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Geddes Seniors and Forever Friends Club and volunteered at Community General Hospital. Carole was predeceased by her husband, Daniel, in 1999; and sister, Patricia Gildea, in 2009. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Jo (Jim) Beamish and Susan Kanavy, both of Syracuse; sons, Stephen of Liverpool and David (Maria) of Syracuse; grandchildren, Ashley Bacoulis, Taylor and Ryan Kanavy, Morgan and Kara Beamish, Danielle and Andrew Gersbacher; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Colin Bacoulis; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, May 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Thursday, May 19 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Carole will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
