Brenda S. Gabriel

Brenda S. Gabriel, 76, of Camillus, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Centre, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Auburn, she moved to the Syracuse area in 1954. A graduate of West Genesee High School, Brenda was employed as office manager at Generous Jack’s for ten years and previously worked as manager at Casual Miss for five years. She was a former member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Brenda loved boating in the 1000 Islands and spent her summers in Kingston, Ontario and winters in Casa Del Mar, Aruba. She enjoyed cooking, but above all, cherished spending time with her family.

Brenda was predeceased by her sister, Audrey Pelligra in 2012.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years John “Jack”; daughter, Michele Gabriel of Camillus; son, John of Bridgeport; brothers, Dudley Williams of Camillus and David (Yadira) Williams of Caracas, Venezuela; grandsons, Jeffrey and Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, September 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Brenda’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
