Brenda E. Howe, 74, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at University Hospital. Born in Everett, MA, she lived most of her life in Syracuse and was a 1958 graduate of Solvay High School. She received her B.A. in Music from Syracuse University in 1962 and in 1967, her M.S. in Guidance. Brenda served a number of school systems in Syracuse and Onondaga County, first as a music teacher and choral conductor and then as a guidance counselor. She retired in 1998 from her position as director of guidance at her alma mater, Solvay High School. Brenda was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the NY State School Review Board. She had a great love for children and was an avid reader. Surviving are her cousin, Susan Caroselli of Mechanicsburg, PA; close friends, Peter (Mary) Klementowski, Rob (Robin) Neimeier and their children, Hannah, Max and Lucy, and Bob (Melanie) O'Donnell, all of Camillus; along with many other friends. There will be no calling hours. Services will be Friday, May 29 at 3 p.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 5402 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Brenda will be laid to rest in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA at the convenience of the family.
