Beverly “Bev” Pompi, 83, formerly of Fairmount, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012, at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Centre, surrounded by her family. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse-Camillus area and a communicant of Holy Family Church. Beverly was born on Saturday, October 19, 1929 and was the daughter of George Martz and Emma Minnie (Kaiser) Martz. Bev was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Anthony, on April 24, 2012. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, John and Shannon Pompi of Baldwinsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and David Barnhart of North Syracuse and Cecilia and Mark Pigula of Camillus; sister, Shirley Scaravillo of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, Art and Lucy Martz of Geneva; grandchildren, Michelle Pigula, Dan (Erica) Pigula, Stephen (Laurie) Pigula, Erin Barnhart, Brittany Pompi and Matthew Pompi; great-grandsons, Albert and Jay D. Pigula; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, January 2 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home and at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Beverly will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
