Betty L. Belcher

Betty L. Belcher, 82, of Warners, died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at home. A lifetime resident of Warners, she was born on Tuesday, September 5, 1922, the daughter of Claude and Hetty Coville. Betty was a graduate of Warners High School. She was a postal clerk in Warners for 22 years, retiring in 1985. Betty was a member of Warners United Methodist Church where she was also a Sunday School superintendent, financial secretary and treasurer. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Twins & Triplets of CNY and a former Campfire leader. Betty's husband, Fred C. Belcher, Sr., died in 1969 and daughter, Nancy Marie Poupore, died in 2000. Surviving are her daughters, Carol (Gary) Gonyea of Weedsport, Jean (Terry) Shaffer of Marcellus and Terrie (David) Fancher of Enfield, Connecticut; sons, Bruce Belcher of Warners, Jerry (Claudia) Belcher of Memphis and Fred Belcher of Interlaken; sister, Elsie Brunet of Tampa, Florida; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Warners United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Schafer officiating. Friends may call Sunday, April 24, 2005 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
