Betty L. Gasparek, 88, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Sunday, 10 days after celebrating her 88th birthday. Born in Blooming Grove and raised in New Windsor, she was the only daughter of Louis and Anna Moses. Betty moved to Syracuse in 1957 and started a family with her husband Emery in Camillus. They eventually moved to Bennett Road and became part of “the Bennett Road Gang”, a collection of close friends and families that all got along and shared many good times. Betty volunteered at Crouse Hospital as a transport assistant and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary at the Camillus Elks Lodge.
Betty was predeceased in 1996 by her husband, Emery Gasparek, Sr.
Surviving are her sons, Michael (Jodi) and Emery (Deborah); and grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew.
The family would like to thank Silver Fox Adult Center, Anna Vogel, and everyone who visited and kept in touch with Betty. An extra special thanks to Deborah Jacques who went above and beyond to help Betty.
To celebrate Betty’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Betty will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Silver Fox Adult Center, 22 E. Genesee St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
