Barbara “Bobbie” Long, 62, of Baldwinsville, passed away Tuesday at Francis House. Born in Auburn, she lived in Camillus for many years before moving to Baldwinsville in 2001. Bobbie was a 1979 graduate of West Genesee High School and attended Herkimer County Community College. She was employed by New Process Gear for 22 years, retiring in 2010, and most recently was a bus driver for the Baldwinsville Central School District. Bobbie was a long-time member of the Liverpool Elks Lodge #2348 and a volunteer with the Junior League of Syracuse and United Way of CNY. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, poker, traveling, and going to casinos. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
As Bobbie always said, “Just dance, it makes everything brighter.”
Bobbie was predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Bernard Marino Jr.
Surviving are her loving husband of 20 years, Harry “Ted”; children, Ashley Vanelli of Liverpool, Taylor Long and Harry IV (Lucas) Long, both of South Carolina; siblings, Marc (Pat) Marino of Radisson, Elaine (Robert) Shaffer of Houston, TX, Patricia (John) DeSocio and Christine (Tom) Kelly, both of Camillus, and Bernard (Lois) Marino of Reisterstown, MD; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
