Avis B. Cummings

Avis B. Cummings, 99, of Jordan, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in East Syracuse on Thursday, June 26, 1913, she was the daughter of Edward Frank Pope and Frances Adell Case Pope. She was a lifetime resident of the Jordan area. Avis was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Cummings; and sons, Daniel and Robert Jr. Surviving are her daughters-in-law, Fran and Christine; granddaughter, Bettina; nieces, Leonora Keiber and Linda Hagger; and several other nieces and nephews. Services and burial will be private. Avis will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY, 41 York St., Auburn, NY 13021.
