Arlene Golden Zielinski, 78, of Syracuse, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was born on Monday, January 20, 1930 and was the daughter of Alfred Clarence Golden and Eliza Mary Bluteau Golden. She attended St. Lucy's School. Arlene was a member of VFW Post 348 and Tipperary Hill Ladies Auxiliary Post 1361. She enjoyed gardening, particularly her rose bushes, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arlene's husband, Edward, died in 1993 and son-in-law, Michael Arney, died in 2006. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Sharon of Syracuse, Walter and Cindy of East Syracuse, and Thomas and Mary Zielinski of Syracuse; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Bill Hloderwski, and Darlene Arney, all of Syracuse, Mary and Scott Miller of Canastota, and Diana Arney of Syracuse; siblings, Carl, Kirk, Doug, Janice, Ronnie, Joanie, Esther and Danny; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. The world won't be the same without her. Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated with Rev. Brian Lang officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
