Archibald McNeill

September 5, 1934 — January 15, 2014

Archibald McNeill, 79, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Loretto. Born and raised in Belfast, Ireland, he lived in Syracuse since 1952. Archie retired from Carrier Corp. after 35 years and was a veteran of the Korean War. Archibald was predeceased by his wife, the former Stella LaFlesh, in 2005; and grandson, Joshua David Keller, in 2000. Surviving are his sons, Jerry of Camillus and David (Shelley) Law of Florida; daughters, Sandra McNeill of Solvay, Angela (Jeffrey) Keller of Fairmount and Jean McNeill of Arizona; sister, Evelyn of England; brother, Desmond (Margaret) McNeill of Belfast, Ireland; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the 13th floor staff at Cunningham for the excellent care they provided Archibald and to the staff at VA Hospital, Hospice of CNY and the Silver Fox Senior Social Club. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, January 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Archie's name to the VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210.
