Anthony Albert Sardino, 68, of Camillus, passed away Friday at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Utica, he was a graduate of Utica College. Throughout his college years, he worked at Chicago Markets where he met his wife. He enjoyed a 45-year career in the field of information technology, including GTE Corporation and Carrols Corporation where he was Senior Director of Applications. Anthony enjoyed muscle cars and going to the Syracuse Nationals. He also enjoyed his annual trips to Cape Cod. He was an avid fan of SU sports, the NY Yankees and NY Giants. In his younger years, Anthony was actively involved coaching youth sports in WOYSA Soccer and Basketball at Holy Family Church. A communicant of Holy Family Church, he was also a lector. Anthony enjoyed his Italian heritage through Sunday sauce and a variety of Italian pastries. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Helen Sardino and father-in-law, Ronald Smith, all of Utica.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Debra (Smith) Sardino; children, Nicholas (Katherine) Sardino and Kaylah (Mark) Richardson; grandchildren, Ella and Rosalie Sardino and Colt and Madison Richardson; mother-in-law, Theresa Smith; brother-in-law, Richard (Judi) Smith; sister-in-law, Sharon (Frank) Indolfi; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 30 at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Relatives and friends may call following the Mass from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the church. Face masks are required. Anthony will be laid to rest at St. Agnes Cemetery in Utica.
