Anne (Lavelle) Sheridan, 91, of Howlett Hill, passed away peacefully on Sunday at home, surrounded by her loving family. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she brought warmth, creativity, and a deep sense of community to all who knew her.
A proud graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School, Anne’s early career included time with NY Telephone Co. and Merchants Bank. However, her greatest joy came from building a life filled with faith, family, and service. She was a past president of St. Peter’s Altar & Rosary Society, an active member of the Howlett Hill Community Center, the Home Bureau, and the St. Vincent’s Roamers Club, where her vibrant spirit touched countless lives.
Anne had a knack for turning everyday moments into treasures. Whether crocheting, painting ceramics, or managing Sheridan Ceramics alongside her beloved husband, Jim, she filled her world with beauty and joy. Anne’s home was a sanctuary of love and laughter where family and friends gathered often.
Anne was predeceased in 2013 by her husband, James; parents, Anthony and Gertrude Lavelle; brothers, Thomas, Richard, and Raymond Lavelle; and sister, Eleanor Lavelle.
Surviving are her sons, James A. (Kathleen) of Solvay, Paul (Judith) of Camillus, and Robert (Natalie) of NYC; daughters, Christine (Alfred) Bishop of Marcellus, Barbara Sheridan of Old Forge, Therese (Herbert) Ziegler of Baldwinsville, and Katherine (Michael) Wheeler of Howlett Hill; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; “brothers”, Thomas, Robert, William, James, and Michael Lavelle; sister-in-laws, Eileen Lavelle of Liverpool and Patricia Sheridan of Howlett Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Paula Micheletti for the extraordinary care and compassion she provided to Anne.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor Anne’s life on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
