Anne “Betty” Melillo, 89, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at home. She was formerly employed by B.O.C.E.S. Betty was a communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the choir for more than 50 years. A member of the Camillus Garden Club and Girl Scout leader for 10 years, she was also a member of the Liederkranz Chorus, Syracuse Chorale, and actress and singer in the Camillus Optimist plays.
Betty was predeceased in May 2021 by her husband, of 67 years, Louis A. Melillo.
Surviving are her daughters, Kathy (Bill) Salvaterra of Syracuse, Judy Melillo of Syracuse, and Susan (George) Sedlack of Camillus; sons, Dennis of Palm Bay, FL, David (Jen) of Camillus, and James of Camillus; grandchildren, April and Emily Salvaterra, Alexandra Lang, and Samantha Caram; great-grandchildren, Miles, Dean and Margaret Lang; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, February 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 16 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Betty will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
