Anne Marie Normoyle, 91, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023. Born in Drumkeeran, County Leitrim, Ireland, on December 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Flanagan. Anne was the first of eight children. In 1950, Anne immigrated to Bronx, NY. A graduate of the Assisium Secretarial School in NYC, she began working at Honeywell Co. and later IBM. While in NYC, Anne met her husband, William and they married September 1, 1956, at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, later settling in Syracuse together. A communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Anne was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, and enjoyed volunteering with the Parish’s Food Pantry and Funeral Guild. She spent many years teaching CCD, and was an active member of the Fairmount Garden Club. After spending many years raising her family, Anne returned to the workforce, first at Sears, then at The Bon-Ton in Camillus. She was also a diligent newspaper reader, and frequent viewer of CNN News. Above all, Anne enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Anne was predeceased in 2008 by her husband, William; brother, John Flanagan; and sister, Bridget Buckley.
Surviving are her sons, William Jr. (Cheryl) of Chester Springs, PA, Michael and Brian, both of Camillus; daughters, Maureen (John) Demers of Albany, Kathleen (Brian) Connolly of Cumberland, RI, and Eileen (Jim) Cebeniak of Onondaga Hill; grandchildren, Kalin, Brent, Matthew, Sean, Kerry, Patrick, Lauren, Clare and Maeve; and great-grandchildren, Shay and Josie. Anne is also survived by Jack (Rita) Normoyle and their sons, Tom and Dennis; brothers, James, Michael and Francis; and sisters, Kathleen and Agnes. Also, several nieces, nephews and cousins in Ireland.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, January 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Church. A funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the church.
Anne will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
