Anne (Bruciak) Macko, 90 , of Liverpool, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Elderwood Health Care at Birchwood with her family by her side. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was a graduate of Blodgett Vocational High School. During World War II, Anne worked for Remington Rand and A&P Tea Co. She retired from Sears & Roebuck after 25 years. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Sherwood Knolls Home & Garden Club, Baldwinsville Moose Lodge and St. Michael's "R" Club. She enjoyed traveling and spending time the "Club Girls", her family and her granddaughters, who were the light of her life. Anne was predeceased by her husband, William Macko; sister, Mary Quick; and brothers, Stephen and John Bruciak. Surviving are her daughter, Tracy Phillips of No. Syracuse; granddaughters, Erica of North Syracuse and Kelly Phillips of Manhattan; sister-in-law, Olga Macko of Lakeland; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Elderwood for their generous loving care during the several years Anne resided there. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Panakhyda services at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, March 21 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home and 1:30 p.m. in SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, 401 Hamilton St., Syracuse. Anne will be laid to rest in St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Cemetery, East Syracuse.
