Anne E. Petrocci

Anne E. Petrocci, 97, of Solvay, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020. Anne was born on July 14, 1923 in Germany and migrated to the US with her family when she was 18 months old. She had a normal childhood but growing up in the Depression was difficult. Anne met her husband to be, John, and they married in 1943. They made Solvay their home where they raised three children. Anne worked for a short time at Pass & Seymour, but family was her main concern. She loved to cook, bake and prepare meals of all kinds, especially during the holidays. Anne’s Italian cookies were her specialty. She was also an excellent seamstress. When the grandchildren came, they were the joy of her life.

Anne was predeceased by her husband, John Petrocci Sr., in 2001; parents, Nora and Joseph Laufer; and brother, Emil Laufer.

Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen Petrocci of Solvay; sons, John (Anita) Petrocci Jr. of Camillus and Mark (Linda) Petrocci of North Syracuse; brother, Rudy Laufer from Syracuse; grandchildren, John Petrocci, Alyssa (Brian) Page, William (Katherine) Petrocci, James (Kayla) Petrocci and Daniel (Amanda) Petrocci; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Makenna Page and Aiden and Tanner Petrocci; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Sherry Goldman, Cheryl French and all the nurses from Hospice of CNY for their excellent care given to Anne.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, August 11 from 10 a.m. to noon in St. Charles ~ St. Ann’s Parish, 501 Orchard Rd., Syracuse.

A funeral Mass will follow at noon in the church. Anne will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
