Anna Makarchuk, 79, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at home. Born and raised in Korsiv, Ukraine, she was a farm worker for 38 years before moving to the U.S. in 1996.
From her youth, Anna loved God passionately and was a constant prayer warrior for her family. She was a member of First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church.
Anna was predeceased by her daughter, Nadya Mytryk; and brothers, Michael and Peter Shevchuk.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Ivan; children, Stepan, Tanya (Slavik) Vitrovi, Andrey (Luda), Yelena (Slavik) Trach, and Viktor (Olenka); brother, Ivan Shevchuk; son-in-law, Stepan Mytryk; 30 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, December 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church, 3875 Warners Rd. Services will begin at 7 p.m.
Second services will be Saturday, December 2 at 10 a.m. in the church with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
