Anna M. Slowik, 86, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009 at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Poland on Monday, April 2, 1923, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary Kotowicz. She moved to the United States at five years of age and lived in the Syracuse area all her life. A graduate of Blodgett Vocational High School, Anna was a long time employee at Witherill's department store in Camillus. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. An avid baker, she especially enjoyed making rolls and bread. Anna was predeceased by her husband, John in 1994. Surviving are her sons, Edward (Pam Goult), Michael (Kelly), Stephen (Melanie), and John (Jeff Lesley); daughters, Diane (Peter Stickney) Slowik and Theresa Slowik; and 11 grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009 in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be private.
