Camillus

Ann S. Mulholland, 91, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Francis House, surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong resident of the Camillus area, she lived a life of devotion, service, and compassion that touched countless lives.

Ann was a proud graduate of St. Patrick's High School and St. Joseph's College of Nursing, where she cultivated her passion for caring for others. She dedicated over 20 years of her career as a nurse at St. Camillus, retiring in 1994. Ann’s warmth and kindness extended beyond her professional life as she remained active in the Alumni Association at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing and served as a volunteer and auxiliary member at Francis House, offering her time and energy to those in need.

A devoted communicant of Holy Family Church, Ann cherished her faith and the community it brought her. Her gentle spirit and unwavering generosity were a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Ann was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved spending time at her camp on Coan Pond, where she found peace and happiness, surrounded by nature. Above all, she found great joy in spending time with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. 

Ann was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Owen “Jack”, in 2020; son, Patrick, in 2022; parents, Frank and Catherine Mantel; two brothers; and a sister.

Surviving are her daughters, Karen (Richard) Homeyer and Joanne (Peter) Craner, both of Camillus; son, Michael (Natalie) of Syracuse; daughter-in-law, Barbara of Palm Beach Shores, FL; six grandsons; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. 

Burial will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
