Ann Marie Verostek, 39, of Syracuse, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at home surrounded by family. Born in Johnson City, NY on Thursday, February 17, 1966, she lived in the Syracuse area most of her life. Ann was a graduate of Bishop Ludden High School, St. Joseph's School of Nursing and SUNY Utica where she received a Bachelor of Science degree. A registered nurse at St. Josephs Hospital, Ann received the Sister Antonia Medal for representing the highest personal ideals of nursing at her graduation from St. Josephs School of Nursing. A kind and sensitive person, she was a very compassionate nurse. She truly appreciated the community of nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital. Ann enjoyed photography and nature. A very creative person, she participated in a variety of arts and crafts, including quilting, stamping and cross-stitching. Traveling was also a favorite interest of Ann's. She traveled throughout the U.S. and enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. She backpacked with her mom and John via Eurail throughout parts of Italy, Germany and Austria. Ann was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Surviving are her parents, James and Patricia Verostek, of Syracuse; sisters: Mary Frances (George) Pascual of Clifton Park, Mary Jude (Martin) Plunkett of Syracuse and Jane Marie (Walter) Miller of Syracuse; brothers, Michael James (Stephanie) Verostek of Rome and John Paul Verostek of Boston, Massachusetts; nieces, Paulina, Justine and Sarah and nephews, James, Michael Joseph, Michael James and Nicholas. Services were private at Holy Family Church. Arrangements were by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
