Ann Elmer Ezzo, 94, of Camillus, passed away Saturday at Loretto. Born in Utica, she graduated with honors in 1945 from Proctor High School in Utica. She resided in Camillus since 1963. Ann was manager for Tupperware home parties and retired from the VESID Department of NYS in 1991. She was an active member of the American Italian Heritage Assn., local chapter of the AARP and the Camillus Erie Canal Society. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Fran, as well as volunteering for Catholic Charities, Meals on Wheels, Community General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Church where she was a communicant for 58 years. One of her greatest joys was spending time at the family’s summer camp on Hinckley Lake.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, Dominick and Cora Coluccio; brother, Frank Coluccio; and former husband, George Elmer.
Surviving are her loving husband of 41 years, Francis J. Ezzo, her “#1 Marine”; children, George (Marcia) Elmer of Albany, Ann (Philip) Russell of Clifton Park, Jerry (Kathy) Elmer of Berlin, MD, Pastor John (Gwen) Elmer of Syracuse and Bob (Chris) Elmer of Camillus; 14 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Ann was a woman of great faith who put family at the center of her life. She taught us love of God, love of family, love of learning and love of all things Italian.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, February 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee Street, Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Ann will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery in Warners.
