Anita Jacob-Gilbert, 44, of Solvay, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at University Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of West Genesee High School and Onondaga Community College where she received a degree in criminal justice. Anita was a private investigator for 19 years with the Bellerdine Investigative Agency in Auburn. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and enjoyed cooking. She loved her friends and family, especially her nieces. Anita was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Manuel Neves; paternal grandparents, Jose and Miquelina Jacob; and uncle, Michael Neves. Surviving are her parents, Horacio and Nelida (Neves) Jacob of Camillus; brother, Michael (Crystal) Jacob of North Syracuse; maternal grandmother, Maria C. Neves of Camillus; companion, Kenneth Carbone of Solvay; nieces, Alexandra and Camryn Jacob; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, November 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 13 at St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Anita will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
