Anatoliy “Tony” Matsyuk, 55, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Kolona, Ukraine, he came to the U.S. in 1992. Anatoliy was employed by Centro for 13 years, TAL Remodeling Construction for seven years and Stickley for 10 years. He was a member of the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church and a member of the choir where he also enjoyed playing the trumpet. He loved spending time with his family and helping those in need.
Anatoliy was predeceased by his parents, Stepan and Nadia Matsyuk.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, the former Ludmila Pototsky; daughter, Yuliya (Sergey) Shelestovsky of Syracuse; sons, Vitaliy of Syracuse, Paul of Syracuse, David (Maryana) of Baldwinsville, Tony and Edward, both of Syracuse; sister, Halina (Vladimir) Petrenko of the Ukraine; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
First service will be Friday, February 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church, 3875 Warners Rd., Syracuse. Second service will be Saturday, February 5 at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Anatoliy will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Face masks are required.
