Alvin J. Tarolli, 96, of Camillus, passed away Friday at the VA Medical Center. Born in Camillus, he lived in Solvay for many years before moving back to Camillus in 1955. Alvin was an Army veteran of the European Theatre of WWII. He was a supervisor at Carrier Corp. for over 30 years before retiring in 1981. A communicant of Holy Family Church, Alvin was past president of the Holy Family Parish Seniors, vice president of the Camillus Senior Citizens, past president of the Solvay Tyrol Club and a member of the Alpine Choraliers singing group. An avid Yankees fan, he also enjoyed bowling, music and playing the accordion, guitar and harmonica.
Alvin was predeceased by his wife, Jane; and brothers, Richard, Edwin and Robert.
Surviving are his very special friend and companion, Virginia Doolittle; daughters, Geraldine (Daniel) Sullivan of Amherst, NH and Patricia (John) Poissant of Troutville, VA; son, David Tarolli of Elbridge; sister, Diane Bourdeau of Syracuse; brother, Daniel Tarolli of Syracuse; grandchildren, Kristin Poland, Noah Poissant, Nathan Poissant and Christopher Killoren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, March 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be Saturday, March 2 at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Alvin will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
