Alpha Mae Kshyna, 80, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pelican Rapids, MN, she later moved to the Syracuse area. She was a graduate of Pelican Rapids High School and earned her associate degree from Fargo North Dakota. Alpha was formerly employed with CIS Corporation but spent most of her years as a homemaker, taking care of her family. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling. Above all, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alpha was predeceased by her parents, Alvin and Mina Sleen; and grandson, John T. Marinelli.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Michael; daughters, Kathy (John) Marinelli and Christine Kshyna, both of Camillus; son Thomas (Kimberly) Kshyna of Camillus; sister, Betty Bonewell of Daytona, FL; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Christopher) Gardener, Sarah (Ryan) McBride, Ashley and Evan; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Lucy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, April 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 6 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. Alpha will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
