Alice T. Welch

Alice T. Welch, 90, of Geddes, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at The Centers at St. Camillus. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Vocational High School and retired from AT&T with over 35 years of service.
Alice was a member of St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church. She was a devoted, hard-working mother who loved spending time with her family.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Donald, in 1994; and brother, Thomas Thamis, in 2005.
Surviving are her children Susan (Thomas) Walker, Frank (Janine) Welch and Linda (John) Manzano; sister, Ethel Chekan; sister-in-law, Jeanne Thamis; grandchildren, Jordan, Amanda and Elise Walker, Lauren and Jonathan Welch and John, Daniel and Ryan Manzano; great-grandchildren, Emery and Maelyn Manzano and Kellan Walker; cousins, Tom Thomas and George (Kitty) Coudoures; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all who showed great care and compassion for Alice during her time at St. Camillus.
Per Alice’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and services will be private. Alice will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Rd., Syracuse, NY 13224.
