Alfonso DeVivo, 90, of Syracuse passed away Monday at Francis House.
Born and raised in Pagani, Italy, Alfonso moved to the Syracuse area in 1960 when he was 27. He owned his own barber shop and was a barber for almost 60 years in the Syracuse area retiring in 2019. Alfonso was a communicant of Holy Family Church, a member of the Lion’s Club as well as the Knights of Columbus. He lived life to the fullest; often found enjoying music, dancing, wine, pasta and loved traveling to Italy to visit family.
Alfonso was predeceased by his son, Joseph DeVivo; parents; and brother, Francesco DeVivo.
Surviving are his daughters, Mary Jo (John) DeVivo-Scaia of Camillus and Tina (Ken) DeVivo-Greig of Wilton, CT; siblings, Titina Marrazzo, Raffaele and Anna Devivo all of Pagani, Italy, Maria (Mario) Sole of Rome, Italy; grandchildren, Brian, Olivia, Taylor, Emily and Stephanie; great-granddaughter, Amelia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be private. Alfonso will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery.
