Aleksandr Mikhaylovich Melnichuk, 65, of Camillus passed away Tuesday peacefully, surrounded by his family. Born in Ukraine, he moved to the Syracuse area in September of 1999. Aleksandr was a member of the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church. Employed by Stickley Furniture, Aleksandr was supposed to retire in December but has now retired to heaven.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the former Dina Redko; children, Alex (Nina) Melnichuk of Camillus, Andrey (Taisa) Melnichuk of Florida, Igor (Ira) Melnichuk of Camillus and Tatyana Melnichuk of Camillus; three sisters who reside in the Ukraine; eight grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, November 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 West Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 13 at 9:30 a.m. at Buranich Funeral Home. Aleksandr will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
