Aleksandar "Alex" T. Glamcevski

Aleksandar T. Glamcevski, 93, of Syracuse, passed away on Friday. Born and raised in Bukovo, Macedonia, Alex honorably served as a member of the Presidential Guard in the Yugoslav army. Alex then pursued a better quality of life by traveling abroad to Australia and subsequently immigrating to the United States with his family in 1968. A skilled mechanic and welder, Alex worked at Carrier Corp. for more than 20 years. Alex was also an active member of St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, music, and spending quality time with his growing family.

Alex was predeceased by his sisters, Petra Lingurovska and Mara Glamcevska.

Alex is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Sofija; daughters, Vera (Pando) Mazevski of Syracuse and Menka (Tomislav) Gorevski of Rochester; brothers, Petar (Blaguna) Glamcevski and Josif (Liljana) Glamcevski, of Syracuse; grandchildren, George (Liliana) Mazevski, Annette (Scott) Yerdon, Nicholas (Ana) Gorevski, Alexander (Shannon) Gorevski, and Thomas (Sara) Gorevski; great-grandchildren, Daniela, Christopher, Elena, Mila and Theodore; and many nieces and nephews.

Public calling hours will take place on Sunday, October 25th from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY. Private funeral and burial services will be held on Monday and Alex will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
