Alan Douglas Jr., 95, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at University Hospital at Community General. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Nottingham High School. Alan was a Marine Corps veteran of WW II. He was employed over 20 years with NY State Fire Insurance Rating Organization. He was a bass drummer for the Syracuse Kiltie Pipe Band and member of the Syracuse Scottish Games Committee. Alan was predeceased by his wife, Helen, in 2014; and son Drummond in 1985. Surviving are his brothers, Richard (Rita) of California and William of Marcellus; nephew, Bruce (Elizabeth) Douglas of Syracuse; great-granddaughter, Hannah Douglas; and several cousins. There will be no services. Alan will be laid to rest with his wife, Helen, in Howlett Hill Cemetery.
