Agnes G. Baker, 82, of Camillus, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at her home. Born in Syracuse on Friday, February 29, 1924, she was the daughter of Ernest LeRoy Baker and Agnes Mildred Jordan. She lived in Camillus since 1970. Agnes was an associate member of the I.H.M. Religious Community in Monroe, Michigan. She retired in 1995 after 54 years of teaching in the Catholic schools, including 27 years in Michigan, 16 years in Jordan-Elbridge and 10 years in Syracuse at St. Lucy's Academy. Agnes was a member of NYSTA and the NEA. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church where she was also a Eucharistic minister. An avid golfer, she was a member of Tuscarora Country Club. She also enjoyed bowling. Surviving are her adopted sister, Barbara Quell of Camillus and several cousins, including Rev. John Wagner. Her adopted sister, Anna Collins, died March 25, 1997. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph's Church where Rev. John Wagner will celebrate a funeral Mass. Friends may call Thursday, October 12, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
