Adele M. Byrne

January 24, 1934 — May 29, 2020

On Friday evening, May 29, 2020, our beloved wife, Mom and Nana passed away at Iroquois Skilled Nursing Community.

Adele was born in Tupper Lake, NY on January 24, 1934 to Charles and Alida Burnell. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Burnell and sister, Herma Carrow.

Survivors include Adele’s husband of 65 years, William P. Byrne; daughters, Kathleen A. Byrne (Carole Neidrauer) of Lancaster, NY, Karla S. Byrne (Michael Locke) of Simpsonville, SC and Karen L. (Turner) Prickett of Raleigh, NC; son, Michael W. (Gina) Byrne of Aurora, IL; grandchildren, Patrick Wojcieson, Matthew and Thomas Byrne and Jordan and Andrew Hamilton; and several special nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Adele graduated from Tupper Lake High School and Albany Business School. She was employed for several years by Western Electric, Onondaga County Child Services and Community General Hospital.

Adele enjoyed a lifelong commitment to gardening. She never met a plant or flower she didn’t nourish!

She devoted decades caring for her family; no words can adequately describe the love she lavished upon us. We have been so very fortunate.

Burial services will be private and interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners, NY. A celebration of Adele’s life will be held at a later date.

It is suggested, in lieu of flowers, that contributions in memory of Adele may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
