Adam “Bart” Shostack, 64, of Camillus, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center after a brief but hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Syracuse on Thursday, August 14, 1947, he spent his early years in Syracuse before moving to Camillus. Employed by the Syracuse City School District for more than 40 years, he was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and passionate outdoorsman. Bart was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Alice Shostack. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Donna Wozniak; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Pauline Shostack, and Keith and Krystal Shostack; sisters and brother-in-law, Joanne and Joseph Sheridan, and Helen Shostack; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Shostack, John and Julie Shostack, and Richard and Kim Shostack; and the “love of his life,” grandson, Zachary. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, August 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 25 at the funeral home. Adam will be laid to rest at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
