Ada L. Costello, 92, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 at The Centers at St. Camillus. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. Ada was a quiet and gentle woman. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years, caring for not only her own children, but reaching out and helping many relatives in need. After Ada’s husband died, she went to work at Loretto Nursing Home, where she retired after 12 years. Ada loved to golf and was an active member at the Calvary Club. She was also a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. She will be sorely missed at the annual Carter family picnics.
Ada was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; and son, Joseph B. Costello II.
Surviving are her daughters, Judy (Pat) Malone, Cindy Costello and Sharon (Bob) Seeley; sister, Kathryn Pettengill; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, January 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 10 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. Ada will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
